@AFGSANFORD2 What Is a regime kept in place by voilence, it is a terror regime. And what is there to explain that the voilence has not already told. Sometimes taken even further Eg, mom's disapointment in you eating all the cookies drowns in your own personal pain from the punishment, so you will only learn an externaly enforced form of dicipline instead of selfdicipline. As soon as the punishment factor has been removed the kid would take the cookie again rather than using self diciplin.

@AFGSANFORD2 Personaly I don't believe in a such thing as coporal punishment used corectly, since I believe that all punishment related voilence turned towards a kid is wrong. Kids are small and apart from some mischief they can't physically harm you, same thing with dsiabled people but you wuld not hit them. Grown ups can cause mischief aswell but coporaly punishing them would usually start a fight, so here we prefere the cunning use of verbal language.

@Sohave I understand your point and that is your choice. Yes, using corporal punishment COULD create a terror regime for the kid to rebel against BUT if used correctly (corporal punishment) it should not. After the punishment, cool down and then talk to the kid about what they did wrong.

@AFGSANFORD2 I strongly disagre, I come from a family where we believe in the power of words. With such you can talk reason and tell the child what hurt their misbehave cause to their suroundings. Using coporal punishment only creates a terror regime for the kids to rebell against. I am a child of a home without such punishment and will continue the tradition.
