Stage one of any culinary excursion for the bachelor-pad gourmet is a purification rundown. This is the subject matter of the second promo for Chef Xenu.
Episode 1, "French Toast," (coming soon) will discuss the Church of Scientology's version of a Purification Rundown:
Purif, the Purification Rundown (definition from xenu.net) A cleansing process, intended to remove drugs supposedly stored in body fat through running, taking megadoses of vitamins and minerals, and sweating in a sauna for hours every day. The Purif costs roughly $1,500, and takes about two weeks to do. There is no scientific evidence to back up the cult of Scientology's claims about the supposed benefits of the Purif.
The price in the definition from xenu.net may be out of date, as I found this on wikipedia:
The New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project is funded largely by private donations, including large donations from celebrity Scientologist Tom Cruise. Roughly 240 rescue workers and 80 downtown residents have undergone the program. Some non-rescue workers who have completed the program have been asked to contribute $5,000 apiece. - [DeSio, John. "The Rundown on Scientology's Purification Rundown - What Scientologists aren't telling you about their detox program (and how much it's costing you)", New York Press, 2007-05-31.
