An amazing program at the U.S. Naval Brig in Charleston is helping to get service dogs to the troops who are coming home from war with physical and mental injuries. Carolina Canines for Service has teamed up with the Brig and the Charleston Animal Society to make it all possible. Inmates at the Brig actually become dog trainers! Dogs adopted from the Charleston Animal Society are brought to the Brig and begin 1-2 years of intensive work-- living at the brig getting the training they need to eventually become a service dog for a wounded warrior. Here is an excerpt from the Emmy Award Winning Savage Report Program that airs on Comcast C2 in Charleston, SC.
