  • @edmonton67 Four engines, 22,500 lbf each.

  • The VC10 was Vickers' first pure-jet aircraft following the success of the Viscount and Vanguard turboprops.

  • I think they served meals in porcelain tableware and stainless steel cutlery. And the beverages in glass bottles. A long gone elegance in the air.

  • Sexy Aircraft !

  • The people were well dressed some even elegantly, The airline was simply the best in the world. On its Caribbean and South America routes, I first saw BOAC VC10 Cunard in 1964 at Trinidad's Piarco Int'l.My grandmother was the lucky one in the family that day to fly it to North America. A flight she said that was simply unsurpassed in service and beauty. The airline made stops there taking passengers to other islands, North America and Britain. Oh, the good old days!

  • 30,000 horsepower....LOL And how many pounds of thrust is that?

  • @thecuddlemoose That's smoked salmon, not raw meat. Airlines traditionally served smoked salmon during the caviar service in First Class for many years.

  • Cigarettes to go with your unsecured overhead baggage anyone?

  • OMG! LoL, @1:02 "And with your vodka this evening, we will be serving you raw meat slices."

  • Ah, the memories!
