Yes, these were terrible atrocities and act of terrorism but at least we, as Americans, have a conscience now about how wrong it was and in the hopes that something like this will never be repeated.

@PEDROCLASSIC This in my opinion is not war, war is when there are two combatant sides and they engage each other. The villagers definitely were not fighting back which makes the event a giant murder scene.

To say that the NVA also massacred people is to avoid confronting American responsibility. The massacres and crimes of the communists are well-known. Yet the myth of American innocence and inherent goodness still thrives within the US. I know. I am American and I was in the military. We continue to live by the myth of Manifest Destiny and we continue to commit unacceptable crimes.
