I understand we often depend on classifications, but there are also some situations where they are pointless or even a hinderance. Sometimes they start out helpful but are distorted over time. "Christians" existed before there was a New Testament. Yet many "Christians" today think they'll go to Hell if they don't believe everything in The New Testament. It's not that I think we shoulda never had a name, just simply that it's probably going to be necessary to move past it.
I'm not sure if I agree with the idea of not naming a movement... mainly because people need a way to compress information in their head. People also need a way to turn something into the subject within a sentence.
I think of it like naming a computer file... it's often irrelevant, however you still gotta do it ;)
Before all that drama I actually remember thinking, "man, Fresco's old. If he starts forgetting shit and getting all senile cranky, there's gonna be drama." Don't get me wrong, he had some legitimate reasons to want to disassociate. Personally I'm content to advocate TVP's values WITHOUT representing an entire movement of people. One fuck up makes the whole group look bad. Or worse - someone else's fuck up makes me look bad.
Well, I don't recall for sure, but I do think that was at least part of it. For the most part though I think I was just pissed off and hoping to bring religion crashing to its knees once and for all! LOL.
Nowadays, I'm still into comparative mythology, but I have my own conclusions to draw from it. I think ZG Part 1 was on the right track, but I don't agree with everything in there.

@ChelevSaRa True :)
Maybe simply label our-self with our goal.
We are resource based economy supporters... a bit of a mouth full...
We could just say "I support a RBE"
Maybe nickname it "RUBY" :)

What do you think about the recent issue with the Zeitgeist movement vs the Venus project.
