Interview with guitarist Eric Johnson at Saucer Studios in Austin, Texas. In part 3, Eric shows us some of the guitars, amps and effects he used for the recording of his new album "Up Close" including his Fender '57 Strat with DiMarzio HS2 bridge pickup, Fender Eric Johnson Signature Strat, Rosewood Eric Johnson Strat with Super V Tremolo, Gibson 335 and SG, Fender Twin Reverb Amps, Stereo TC Electronic Chorus, Boss Digital Delay DD2, EXH Deluxe Memory Man, Barracuda Toadworks Flanger, Danelectro Fuzz Face, Echoplex Tube Driver, 50-100W Marshall, and the secret ingredient: a "tilted" Vox amp.

I think it's Bsus4, Bmin7, Bb7b5, Amin7, Abmin7#5, G13, C6(maybe a maj 7 in there not sure)
They're all pretty stock root 6 bar forms, hope that helps!

All in all . You know who your listeningtoo when YOU HEAR HIM. THAT IS WHAT SEPERATES 10s of thousands of shredders who all are flawless rippers original song with playing fast as lightning or a guy who can wriote an original song that hits the mark. ERIC ADMITS HIMSELF THAT "When your approaching the writing process, YOu have to push yourself melody wise, chord voicings have to be there, I mean leads, everything .IF you CAN WRITE A SONG THAT GETS YOUR HAIRS STANDING ON END !!!! I have been using tlited VOX amplifiers with a strategically placed uncapped bottle's of Armour All on the top of them since I can't remember when I started. Way to be origanal. Maybe if I jumped off the Cliffs of Dover so would.........see that's what I thought. Great.
