Life can be really shitty like the times when things fall apart
And it hurts your heart with self-pity when you can't rub two dimes
You plead to God, "Take me away, I'll do what I gotta do, be it crimes or rhymes, just let it be within this lifetime."
Sometimes, stay up to three working overtime just to bring in food for dinnertime with Mickey D's
Or feel guilty when you're smoking trees, 'cause you know when you look into your children's eyes
You only escape the heart cries and soul sighs for just a minute
So I pull out pen and notebook, and write some lines
Let my thoughts spread across the paper, stream of consciousness: uncut, a way to vent these feelings of mine

This kind of shit is hard to relive, but these stories aren't fiction
Or just a rambling of a kid about mortal dereliction
For many people in the world it describes their storyline which has no end
So for all you listening out there, hearken to me, try to comprehend the daily hell
And you'll see why people will sell their souls to get outta there
