ok, one more time for those who are a little slow on the uptake. this was part of the standup sparring portion of a black belt test. this was one of about 8 rounds of standup. there was also a groundfighting portion with multiple rounds. its broken up to avoid injury and to provide accurate evaluation of those testing. the rounds were done at the end of the test which had already gone for close to 6 hours covering all of the techniques KM is known for (gun, knife, stick, self defense, etc).

black belt in krav maga - we use belts in the States (KMWW). i believe it would be equivalent to Expert 1 in the UK (IKMF).

guy in black shorts is a black belt. guy in white shirt is testing for his - keep in mind he has already been testing for 5+ hours.

i'd re-read your initial post if i were you - you didn't ask a question. what you did do is make an uneducated and painfully naive assertion when, in fact, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. my tone is in direct proportion to your ignorance.

you see this is what i dont get about a lot of martial arts, when it comes down to sparring, it just turns into a boxing or kick boxing match. it doesnt matter how many fancy krav maga scenarios you study, the best boxer will always win in a sparring fight. in my opinion the person who has been doing boxing for a year will hands down beat any black belt krav maga. boxing is seriously understimated as a tool of self defence.

@mrharoldb What perplexes me most is the lack of sparring against armed opponents -- they should not be having kickboxing rounds, like you pointed out; they should be practicing their knife and gun disarms in REAL LIVE sparring situations!

@mrharoldb youre right! whatever martial art there is, karate, wing chun, you name it, when they spar its always in a boxing/kickboxing format. one reason for this is that when these martial arts were created it wasnt for a sparring type format, they were more for strikes to vulnerable parts of the human anatomy, the body was conditioned to deliver strikes that would cause maximum damage, even death, this kind of practice is considered barbaric these days, so you end up with kickboxing lol!!
