  • I have a 478 in a 67 c80. Is there nowhere for a good rebuild or parts source?

  • @litningrod74 Kunkels auto parts in Maryland have access to parts for the 478 magnum

  • @truck8a Kunkels, is that a franchise or a local dealer? If you could get me a number that'd be great! Thank you!

  • @illchillkyle I don't know... the GMC V6 is taller and longer than a small block Chevy. Your biggest issue won't be size, it'll the weight of these guys: the 305E, the baby of the series, weighed in at 795lbs! There's no aftermarket for these engines (I had to build my own 4bbl manifold), parts are expensive, and there's no parts interchange with any other GM engine. That said, stuffing one in an F-body -would- be cool to see, but you're probably going to have your work cut out for you

  • Where the hell can I find that engine? I have actually been looking for the 351V6 GMC made... I have a 1979 and a 1978 Camaro one has no engine and I wanted to do something unique. I am pretty sure the 351V6 will fit, but I am not sure about that massive 478!

  • Yep, sounds about right, it should send you scootin' along the road nicely. Look forward to a video of the completed truck
