"it´s ruff but nobody fuss, life down a yard is tuff , it´s ruff but nobody fuss, .. days up and days the pickney dem (children) no eat , they outa di street , some of them a sneak pon di cold (?) .. life down a yard is tuff , it´s ruff but nobody fuss.. naked body and empty (belly?) .... (?) the pressure thrown pon them (?) my god what a disgrace!!!"

maybe someone can help me with the missing words..

  • @BurnBabylon777 This is the words as he says, i ? a few of them as u see....

It Ruff but no badda fuss

life dung a yard, it tuff, it ruff, but no badda fuss

days upon days the pickney dem no eat, they out a the street,

some a dem a sleep pon the coke? cans(wheat?)

Life dun a yard it tuff it ruff but no badda fuss

naked bodies and empty stomachs, deep collar bone and (ban?) gut,

depression throw up on dem face, my god what a disgrace.

  • @bwoyrough English interpretation:

It's Ruff, but don't bother fussing,

Life down a yard, it tuff, it ruff

    But no bother fussing

Day after day the children they don't eat, they're out on the street,

Some of them sleep on the coke cans?(rubbish tip)

Life in this yard is tuff, it's ruff but don't bother fussing,

Naked bodies and empty stomachs, deep collar bones and big belly(malnutrition),

Depression all over there face, My God What a disgrace....

  • How could this video not be 5 stars?

  • tru, the film is dated and was a reflection of the time, it talks about the suffering they face on a daily basis i guess. It was done at a time when something very special was happeing in Jamaica, it was the time when those ghettos where producing the most talented reggae artists ever, it was a breeding ground for concious expression.

  • look on the raw talent and potential...

  • @BurnBabylon777 him talk about collar bone , when people skinny can see that enit, and bang belly like ho starvin youth dem belly bang out , seen .. peace and love. rastafari

  • @bwoyrough or maybe more likely to be a Michael Smith poem, not sure tho. I can't help but wonder how this video gets 53 dislikes?? anyone wanna speak up and comment about why they don't like this clip? curious to know what is it they don't like. I think using a kid to read a poem like this is always going to be powerful and maybe thats why they filmed it like this, i doubt the kid wrote it himself as the words are beyond his age but who knows... either way it's a powerful poem +video.

  • this is a great video ! can I reupload it please ?

  • Wow, that lil kid knows too much too soon. What a talent he has! That was very moving.

  • this is a dub sample right ere. safe
