I actually rode the Cochrane-Moosonee leg in Oct '97 with a friend. Not the same trip, as it was overcast almost the entire way to Moosonee. Still, very beautiful. Saw the Northern Lights on Moose Factory. Got a huge kick out of the old ONR cars stored near Moosonee, where someone drew a skull & crossbones on an old kitchen car.
Thanks for posting! Sparked some great memories!

"Freighter canoe." That's an awfully quaint way of referring to Moosonee/Moose Factory's beloved "boat taxi."
I used to live in Moosonee, M Factory, and Timmins. Good times, I would suppose.

Cochrane- now entering moose country LOL Lady you were in moose country before you got to North Bay lol. Great video, is this from a dvd?

Thanks for your comments. No, it's not from a DVD. All shot on old Hi8 tape.

Great video from in and out of both the Northlander and the Little Bear mixed but the date is clearly not 1977 (e.g. ex GO transit cars in consist).

Thanks. A typo, it is 1997.
