18 Wheels of Steel (PC) 360 Controller Configuration

This video shows my custom Xbox 360 controller configuration that I use for most of the 18 Wheels of Steel games. The game shown in this video is one of the older titles known as Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel, released in 2002. Here is a quick recap of the controls:
RIGHT TRIGGER - Acceleration
LEFT TRIGGER - Brakes
RIGHT/LEFT BUMPER - Rear view mirror left/right views
LEFT THUMBSTICK - Steer left/right
LEFT THUMBSTICK [CLICK] - Headlights on/off
RIGHT THUMBSTICK [CLICK] - Horn
START - Change camera
BACK - Map on/off
Y - Attach trailer
B - Detach trailer
X - Windshield wipers on/off
A - Start/stop engine

It is also important to go into the Options menu and calibrate the "deadzone" for your controller so that if the left thumbstick happens to stay slightly out of place after you let go of it, your truck won't continue to turn in that direction. This is a common problem with Xbox 360 controllers and after reconfiguring the deadzone, the issue is literally nonexistent.

do PS3 controllers work on 18 WoS Extreme Trucker?

@guitarguy1751 I don't know much about PS3 controllers, but if there are any with USB cables you should be able to plug them right into your computer. 360 controllers have USB connectors so they work perfectly with computers ("USB Plug & Play").

hi cool i never thought a xbox 360 controller work on that i do have the original xbox controller will that work another is ho did you hook it up to the pc can you do a video on how to hook it up and set it up on it thanks

@bluejay148 The Xbox 360 controller connects to your computer via USB, which is what most other devices (mouse, keyboard, digital camera, and so forth) use to connect. The original Xbox controller does not have that type of connection and therefore cannot connect to computers without modification.

hi i have a game element controller i got at good will only thing i can do is start the truck and go foward and backwards and turn lights off and on but cant steer the truck do you think i have to get on of those xbox 360 controllers or the steerling wheel controller
