NIHRS Featuring: Amtrak

(March 6, 2007) Some video of the March 6, 2007 meeting of the Northern Iron Horse Railroad Society (NIHRS) located in Bemidji, MN. Primary train running around on this evening was an Amtrak train brought in by club member Chris M. Layout is under construction and features two main lines, a small yard, and some industry as well as a tunnel. Layout is HO scale.

The track really should be re-done there is no denying that. It's really bad in many spots.

the train was going too fast around the curves and the model engineer was blowing the horn too much !!!

the consist should be baggage, transition sleeper, sleeper, sleeper, coach, coach/baggage, lounge, diner, coach, coach, sleeper, ! and if you want to add mhc's that's your choice !  I wouldn't & I DONT !!!!!

who cares about car position if u r having fun an train runs well on track, layout looks great and the horn it was nice to hear that going

Looks like nearly 100 scale mph in those corners! Out of order consist aside, nice looking layout and loco's/rolling stock.

this is ho, and its not a big deal if the cars were the wrong way or how fast it was going.

The MHC cars can go on the front but the Boxcars do not have HEP connections so there would be no way to hook up the HEP cables from the locos to the cars, Baggage cars and a group of MHC cars had connections for HEP so the could be anywhere ihn the train.
