@manualLaborer "There are slavish souls who carry their appreciation for favors done them so far that they strangle themselves with the rope of gratitude" - Nietzsche.
Fear was actually what propelled me to quit religion and traditional god beliefs..
But hey, anoter Nietzsche quote!:
“You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.”

@enterob7154 pantheism?

@sebaba001 friend, it is difficult to argue with your reasoning. i think most christians feel enduring negativity in this life is an investment to enjoying oneself in the afterlife for an eternity, vs our short earthly lifespan. if there were no god, i would so be living it up and being happy. but alas, i don't make the rules, and the big man upstairs is keeping score baby. and i'm afraid he'll torture me (like he'll torture you) if i don't conform unconditionally. fear is my motivation.

@manualLaborer The thing is that you firmly believe in your religion.. same way I firmly believe in something else.. you only get ONE life, it's a gift, live it fully, don't let bad emotions such as anger conquer you.. just LIVE and have fun, laugh at yourself, and at everything, learn, experiment.. do everything you would ever want, cause you don't get another chance..
that's what I believe, so probably now you understand why I don't want to spend my life kneeling to someone..
thx for the pray

@sebaba001 that is because god is a slave to emotions, such as anger. sure he could choose a non-violent solution if he wanted, but clearly he doesn't care about you. as Job's wife said, "curse god and die".
regardless how mean he may seem, wouldn't you rather take your chances and end up in heaven? think about it, friend. i will pray for you.
-
@manualLaborer why would your all loving god allow us to be tricked to hell? why he so mean?
use your brains bro, wake up!
