Abdel Baset al-Megrahi has released from jail and returned to his homeland. He was convicted of his part in bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland back in 1988. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, but released on 20th August on compassionate grounds. The White House was not happy with Scotland's decision on releasing Megrahi. Afghanistan had an election under the threat of Taliban.
The 400-page report of Australia's bushfire survival book has been released. The royal commission made 51 recommendations, not including the controversial 'stay or go' policy.
