A good general rule is to mound dirt around each plant TWICE during growing season.

@ww2footage Not used ones. New ones have all kinds of chemicals that leach out while being used.

I live in Northern Arkansas. My father used old tires to plant his potatoes. He would lay a tire on ground put a few seed potatoes in it. Once they began to look like plants he would leave just one in each tire, he added tires and dirt every time the plants got tall enough. He had more than 20 potatoes per plant and sometimes stacked three tires high. I have never grown them myself.

just reg dish soup mix one once of soup to 16 oz of water the will kill the bugs but will not harm anything else
