@MisterAgurk: Good for you! Same here. In a recent conversation with pianist Arnaldo Cohen, he mentioned that he thought the Horowitz version less effective than the original, which he (Cohen) has recorded for Naxos in Vol. 1 of the complete Liszt series.

I'm working on my own revisions to the Liszt score, to where I'm hopefully making it more Saint-Saëns, and less Liszt.

Rythmns are not crisp enough, and it's very 'technical' and leaden. It lacks colour and shape, the dramatic moments, shape and structure of phrases and sections not brought out.

On a side note, this seem the only recording on youtube of someone not performing the Horowitz Version but the original Liszt transcription - which i personally prefer.
