Does it have like a usb security chip? Also have you tried plugging the HDD into a normal pc?

So, from a technical stand point, is the Taito Type-X system similar to Sega's Naomi & SNK's NEO-GEO or not?

@TimelordR not at all, type-x is basically a windows computer where you swap HDDs to change game, it is much more fragile than SEGA and SNKs old systems.

Does it have to go through all that on EVERY boot? Seems about as painful as changing games on CPS3 :/ Lame that you even get a mousepointer from the embedded winxp on this system.

worst thing is it boots up everytime you go to the testmenue and back aswell..
