For Atlanta, this snow is quite impressive.

  • @musicfreakcc - my comment was for bradmn64 :-) I lived near Buffalo for a while and it snows there like crazy

  • @d70nerd Ah - Buffalo, being on Lake Erie, has much more snow than Rochester, but for a shorter period. Due to Erie being quite shallow, it freezes over around February thus ending the lake effect. Because Lake Ontario is rather deep in comparison, the lake effect it produces is a bit more mild, but it lasts well into march. On average both cities receive 100 inches of snow a year.

  • I lived in New York and drove in snow there for 17 years. My college there closed for snow ONCE in 25 years in 1993 due to snow & I drove that day. 20 mins after the snow began in Atlanta I started driving home. After 1 1/2 miles I had to turn back and it took almost 2 hours to drive that 1 1/2 miles!! It was the scariest drive of my 30 years driving. People up north don't understand until they experience just a little snow here. Sorry, you can't. I used to laugh, but not any longer.

  • @d70nerd Hahaha - I now live in Rochester, NY.

  • Do people use studded highly-siped winter tires around these parts of the country or anywhere else on the continent ?

  • @JonasE1969 Winter tires are never used in Georgia, although I know tons of people up in Rochester who put them on during the winter.
