Snowcery by Denis O Sullivan

In early Jan 2010 we had the hardest freeze in over 70 years here in Ireland, it went on for a couple of weeks & had the whole country either stuck indoors or in a ditch somewhere waiting for a tow.. :) Having said that though it was a very special time in other ways, it felt like such a fresh. clear, bright new year full of hope & endless possiblities
Anyway out of that spell of freezing weather we had only one day of snow on 11th Jan & because the ground was already frozen solid the snow didn't melt but fell upon the countryside like a snug blanket of cotton wool.. So I video'd these clips & recorded some music to accompany them..
Whereas the video made itself really, I struggled with the music & in a most peculiar way, the melody came almost instantly but, to me, it just sounded too simplistic, I liked it but my usual is to throw loads of layers down but strangely it seemed complete with just what's on it now, I felt I needed to add something like guitar (of course :) or anything to fill up the sound but nothing I tried would fit, it was almost like the music was insisting upon itself to keep it as it was so it is what it is.. I'm still not sure about the music but it does fit the imagery nicely & that's all that matters really..
I just want to add this.. This morning I woke up in a gloom cos I'd been up til 6am trying to finish off the vid & it just wasn't happening, it looked a mess & sounded all wrong. So I went to bed all frustrated with it & thus the gloom when I awoke.. Anyway I logged onto Facebook & was completely blown away by the amount of Birthday Wishes I got from my friends, it blew away the gloom in a burst of love & light, I was deeply touched by it! So that inspired me to finish the vid so here it is.. This one's for all my fellow Facehookers :) Love & Light.. Denis.
