Whoever wrote that story has obviously never experienced Christmas Eve in Uruguay! This video shot just after midnight on Christmas Eve shows that nothing is quiet and no kids are in bed!

At 11:59 PM you might have though that nothing was stirring and all the kids were snugs in their beds... but a minute later all the streets exploded into an array of fireworks, noise and smoke. The smoke was so thick in some of the streets that you couldn't breath.
