  • Marching Hats, just look wierd without plumes :P

  • @1clarinet1981 just to clarify, the AUMB performs as many as six or seven shows a season to this day. It is true that the two major shows are often played first to one side then the other; however the band still works hard to present a new show nearly every week. and now with rehearsal at just four days a week opposed to every day. I think the bar continues to be set high for the AUMB and we've continued to honor the standard of excellence put forth by previous classes.

  • @luckyjinxer perhaps my words were a bit harsh, and i apologize...i realize that the AUMB operates under an entirely different "model" than during my years...

  • thats a short drum major...

  • pregame is always my fav part of their performance!

and nick smith was the band intern my senior year for his last semester! he's so awesome!

  • in '81 we didn't have this coverage!...back then, billy walls was BD...we had to perform a NEW show every week...we had 1 hr a day to make a new show for AU halftime...while the band looks great, don't you work the same show, over, week after week?

yes, i guess, by the end of the season, it should look GREAT!?

  • He's assistant band director at my high school now. It's a small world after all!

    He's the coolest!!

  • Head Drum Major Nick Smith interned at my high school for his last semester! It was great!
