Yes 6 month or later is true. NOT BEFORE.

And yes it is because their insides are not ready to digest food.

  • Most medical bodies including the World Health Organization, the American Pediatrician's Associations, Health Canada, Australia, and other countries, all state that solid foods should NOT start until actual SIX months.

That means NOT at 4, or 5 months, but actually a full 6 months. The reason from what I understand is because the intestines are not ready.

If anyone would like to contest this, I can provide some credible links.

  • my step sister feeds her baby spaghetti and meat balls with spices in it, and we can smell the garlic in the sauce when she packs it for her in her diaper bag. she is 11 months, and she has been feeding it to her for awhile. i know spaghetti is ok for some babies, but she seems to have a bad reaction to it. she has horrible diaper rash all the time. she has also been fed bologna, which doesnt seem like a good idea to me. the baby doesnt have any teeth yet, and i just dont think her body is ready
