  • This interview is the first interview with a Chinese professor about politics in China. Hurray for that.

  • Crock - I will soon put up a YouTube of the police trying to tell me I can't film in public!

Ever hear of the term, "dangerous wake"? It's a law that makes having a jet ski useless!

In China I can do whatever I want; as long as I'm not causing big troubles to someone else!

In China, I can once again feel "free"!

China, in a practical, or "real" sense, is FREE!

In the USA, you have signs & men with tasers telling you what you can and cannot do! In China, the cops don't have firearms!

  • This guy really young to be a professor.

  • @SuddenCatharsis in fact they r of crusadism

  • in other words he wanted to be a real communist.

  • The west needs to shut the fuck up for once. They only criticize China because they fear it. The white people like to pretend they are morally superior to everyone.

  • How old is this Chinese person. seems to be too young to be a ``professor`` giving speech to the public. and the way the host asking those question is just like guiding him saying all those stuff. It sounds like they prcaticed before. Especially that Chinese guy. I mean listen to his accent, and the way he talk. when it comes to against the Chinese party, it`s perfectly accurate! If he did give some speech or whatever he did, it should be something that he`s passionate about, right?

  • This professor looks and sounds really like an ugly fish.

  • Of course I'm not suggesting that it doesn't happen here. Its does and its sick.

To say that the average Chinese has more freedom is either intellectually dishonest or just ignorant. Either way, its untrue and misinformation serves no one well.

America may be approaching China in its lack of civil liberties, but per capita, we still have more freedom. I'm not advertising or endorsing American "freedom," or being an apologist or relativist.

  • totakeke

I'm sure I don't have to tell you the seriousness of the undertaking of deciding upon a second citizenship

Every person is different; as every country is different

To find a match, there are many helpful services out there:

    International Living Journal

    Sovereign Society

And others were available to help you make that choice. It took me over ten years to make my particular decision - I have countless old issues of journals that helped me make my choice

  • crock - you are suggesting none of that happens in the USA?

A woman was imprisoned on a Felony D this year: deemed a "Paper Terrorist"

She had won a lawsuit against the city she resided, and then filed a lien against a city property

This mother of 3 now waits out her days in Federal Prison for being deemed a "Paper Terrorist"!

  • in Canada and the USA you can't speak out in public without getting arrested either. Protests end up with jail time.

  • China is having the same problems America is having - and current "democracy" here sucks - it is becoming Fascism in the USA - I live here.

  • There are problems in china, the real ones, not fake stuff like free tibet or human right suppresion. I am talking about: more econocimal development for more jobs of all levels, more scocial help for strugling family, more social supports for working dads and moms, more spread of wealth, freedom to speak in public, and better land ownership rights so that land seight with appropreate compensations.

I wouldnt go as far as democracy or media freedom though. Fox news and USA set a bad example.

  • GREED!

  • Just curious, what country is your 2nd citizenship from?

I'm looking for another country to live in, I'm sick of the fascism in the U.S.

  • "This interview is the first interview with a Chinese professor about politics in China. Hurray for that."

Absolutely. In all the televised press coverage I've seen so far, not one dissident has spoken. The West is becoming like China.. bit by bit abandoning its own principles to excuse the help China save face.

  • Superficially better - Not as good as it tries to appear to be.

  • I'm not a law student, but I find that hard to believe. I lived in China and saw lone protesters dragged away by police a number of times, and the homes of people casually demolished w/ inadequate compensation. Never mind the lack of property rights and laws restricting child birth. The State judges, imprisons and executes whomever for a wide degrees of 'offenses.'

If you're going to make a statement like that you need to back it up.

  • America is ranked only behind Mexico in poverty among the "industrialized Nations"

  • In reality, in a practical sense, on the street, there is much more freedom in China than in America

Being "allowed" to speak out against Government hasn't given America freedom! America has already lost all but number 3 in its original list of Bill of Rights

Loss of Habeas Corpus, putting children as young as 9 in war prisons, Victory Act, & numerous despotic "Executive Privileges" for the Oligarchy & ruling class is unique ONLY TO America!

Thank god for my second citizenship!

  • bludrums - It makes it a better car

  • China has extremely few starving people.

Nevertheless, poverty remains a great concern for China.

  • An old 1964 Chevy with a new paint job doesn't make it a new car!

  • DAMN RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The majority of that money was spent investing in infracture which will benefit all classes of Chinese people. One of the greatest strengths of China is that they consistently make these kinds of long-term investments which really benefit the people and the country. And you're complaining about it?
