@MacGuffinProductions I think it was because of how Bowser was originally on the first game. Since the first cartoon on the series was made before Super Mario Bros. 3 came out, Bowser (Koopa) was heavily based on the version from the first game, which was green like that. So I believe that to not differ much from the other cartoon and cause confusion like, "Why's Koopa different now?", they decided to keep him the same. He looked exactly the same the Super Mario World cartoon.
