I can speak/read Russian fairly well, but this must be an older form of Russian. The sentence structure is likened to old English. I found it difficult to follow. But - entertaining nonetheless.

Hi David! Thank you for the comment! No, it is not old Russian (I can understand everything :) although the poem was written in 1831. I think because it is a poem the sentences are not always structured in the regular way.
