I think his ratchets. Back into 1st, forward 2-4.
The old school tank shift each gear had its own position if I remember correctly.
Both are cool.

That have a different shift drum on it? Neutral all the way forward and 1-5 is back?

Nice bike. Nothing more embarrassing then to have an engine stall during video production. I did it on my 750 & it refused to start.
