During the holiday season scam artists don't take a break, in fact they multiply. What you might find when shopping online is a proliferation of pop up ads and bogus online auctions with offers on in-demand items that are just too good be true. These fraudulent sites are set up with the intention of stealing your money and your information. Another new scam technique that has become popular is called "smishing". Smishing is similar to phishing, but is done through text messaging and often tells you to call a specific number or visit a bogus site with the intention of defrauding you.
