  • We teach the same technique except for we plant on the side of our foot. We do this because it has decreased the amount of times our DBs slip out of their breaks. Do you find your players slipping b/c of breaking on their toes? If no, any tips on how to plant on your toes and not slip? Great Vid! Thanks!

  • @BellevueHSfootball When breaking on your toes, no matter the sport, you must shift your weight and momentum downward to the ground by dropping your hips and keeping your back straight and head up. When you can shift the momentum downward and not forward, you can then change directions and break quicker with balance!

  • Good stuff man, most DB's don't use great form on their recovery slows them down a lot more than they think it does.

  • @Underarmour81 Thanks and God bless!

  • REMEMBER: Defensive Backs want ball just as much as the receivers. Ball Hawk Ball Hawk. ( Your eyes play the Ball and your 3rd eye play the WR's)

  • THE OLD (W-DRILL)... Also, Defensive Backs. The (T-step) or (7) is use mostly on breaking routes (In and Out Route), (post corner)...

To be honest, planting your foot(T-step) and keeping form with Technic can be use to perfection on a better play of the ball when covering breaking and come back routes. Which the W-drill: Teaches, playing the ball when your come back forward.

  • @killerhippo10 lol Thanks for stating the obvious... I used to do all around training and work with players from different sports, but I realized that the Lord gave me a passion for the game basketball and it would be a disservice to the athletes I train if my heart wasn't in everything that I do. It's still a great video and it can help the DB's out there.

    - God bless.

  • @ReeferTim what the fuck? this is about football you freak

  • Your just an all around athlete

  • @SOGTrainingCo Hear ya on shifting your weight downward by dropping your hips! We will try out this technique after this season. Thanks for the advice! We play our season opener vs. Oaks Christian, CA Sat. Sept 3rd @8:05pm. You can tune in if you have Direct TV or Dish, Fox Sports will be televising it. Thanks again!
