Looking for another way to tell stories, folk singer-songwriter Vikesh Kapoor (COM09) studied photojournalism. While music is now his primary means of storytelling, Kapoor returns from time to time to the camera. At the very least, he says, when Im traveling around from town to town, I carry a camera with me.

Homer Wills, Tin Alley in CA just sent me this link. Kapoor is playing at his place tonight. I was bewailing the almost disappearance of protest songs in the last say - 30+ years...and got to hear this. Yeah, he's evocative of Dylan (more melodic, thankfully), but quite the poet songwriter. Loved this. Want to hear so much more and from so many more voices. Music and lyrics move people to action, and these times require more voices heard about what's going on in the world.
