  • Very bright bird, quite the character. I really like how she treats him respectfully too.

  • you're right, it doesn't matter to the animal. but the research matters to scientists, and dr. pepperberg. And in turn, will matter to the general public after seeing clips like this one, when people start realizing that parrots are capable of much more than the general public actually think. and in turn will perhaps treat birds and animals with more respect if not already so.

  • I have a parrot and I know how smart they are. When you have animals as pets you really learn allot about them and how smart they are.

  • This is really amazing.

  • 1 person is mad because the parrot is smarter than them.

  • aw i love alex! too bad he died.. he really was like a little kid -3:)

i dont think you should clip their wings. i was reading and it said learing how to fly and flying makes them self-assured and more confident, so they have better mental health if their wings are not clipped.

  • he's cute and smart! ^_^

  • @KimonoHire - A parrot's response to fear is to fly - if you clip a bird's wings, you take away it's ability to respond to that instinct. This eventually causes psychological problems and you end up with a biting or screaming bird that pulls it's feathers.

  • I love the way he says four :)

  • alex was relatively young for an african gray most likely because of the intensity of the stresses in his life.

  • @sexyshitMan greys can live up to 50, so alex was young when he passed.
