Why Macedonian Women wear helmets

This beautiful song is Σαπφώ (Sappho), by the great Eleftheria Arvanitaki (ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑ ΑΡΒΑΝΙΤΑΚΗ).

Imathia is the oldest place in Macedonia, and is home to Macedonian traditions that date back centuries. In Roumlouki, Alexandria, women are proud to wear their Greek costume that includes a helmet. This dates to the time of Amyntas, who honoured the women in the region because they helped him in a war.

'Of these princes we have seen Arrhabeus oppressed by the late king of Macedonia, Perdiccas, and relieved by the generous policy of the Laedaemonian general Brasidas. Amyntas, in a milder way, succeeded better in the purpose of establishing an interest in Lyncestis, marrying Eurydice, granddaughter of Arrhabeus by his daughter Irra.' @2sokrat, it's funny how Imathia has rich Macedonian heritage, but nowhere in Vardarska will we find traditions dating back to ancient times. Of course i am sure your pseudo-scholars are already working on this problem. Soon it will be revealed in Skopje that the way Tsar Samuil ate soup was an ancient Macedonian tradition dating to Philip II
