Barry Schwartz makes a passionate call for "practical wisdom" as an antidote to a society gone mad with bureaucracy. He argues powerfully that rules often fail us, incentives often backfire, and practical, everyday wisdom will help rebuild our world.

u want people with a vision to be taken down?lol Wow, you sound like a stereotype revolutionist, too bad the real ones have probably all died out or they are labeled terrorists..these days. That does make me think, where the fuck is mankind going when everyone is a damn sheeple? Even if logic is good, it can make you into an obedient little fucker..that only cares about your house, job&lover, because our interests..rule our lives...the illusion of freedom is found in caged logical thinking, hmm.

I believe there is a fear in giving inferiors (people below a boss in a company) power to make their own or unpredictable decisions. In the withdrawal of power there is a power surplus in those who make the rules. What I drew from this is that it is much easier in the short run to control the actions of all people involved with rules and procedures, but it is better in the long run to allow slack and delegate responsibility further down the chain of command. It's hard, but worth every bit.

On the contrary, capitalism has only really benefited a smaller portion of the population (although yes, has enabled social mobility for SOME families) Culturally, most minority people still hold true to their communistic methods of maintaining social balance. It really depends on the virtues of the "leaders"
