@VoxVocisCruora he pretty much killed off half (basically the whole of the empire's citizens) and then i think he got a bit bored with the lack of a challenge... so then he went on to kill death (via Urik), and after that it was time to peace out of this joint, onwards to greener pastures. like the 9th circle of hell, for example, where he has no doubt already skinned satan alive and used the pelt as a throw rug in front of the fireplace.

I fricking cried watching this. Drackengard was one of the shittiest games I've ever played, but those two made it bearable, and this happens to them... Screw you Nowe, you're the biggest idiot I've ever seen, a complete screw up like your father (your biological father), you're the one that should've died, and FUCK YOU Cavia, for doing this to characters as cool as them. As for Caim & Angelus, may you two be together, killing the shit out of everyone for all eternity .

This must've been a deliberate "Fuck You" by Cavia to it's fans, it's the only explanation for killing these two and letting Nowe live.
