Most of the lakes in Ladakh are orogenic and subsequent sinking of land mass. The major lakes are saline and show eutrophication of various levels. Three lakes are visited in a jeep safari, the lakes are Tso Kar, Tso Moriri and Pangong. From Tso Kar to Tso Moriri one travels through Indus valley and the battle ground of Chushul of 1962 war with China.
