During a treasure hunt with his friend Carsten in Thailand's beautiful northern region, Holger vanishes without a trace. After hearing of his disappearance, Hotel Manager Markus and Holger's wife Susanne set out in a determined effort to find him. The two go diving in the vicinity where Holger was last seen and make a shocking discovery: in the sparkling blue-green waters, they find Holger's air tank lying on the bottom of the sea... Devastated, Susanne fears the worst.

The beautiful student Meike surprises her parents by introducing them to her new fiancé, Philipp. Although her mother Ursula is ecstatic about her daughter's upcoming marriage, Meike's father Herrmann is suspicious of Philipp's true intentions. Meike's family is extremely wealthy and Herrmann fears that Philipp is only using his daughter to gain easy access to the family's money.

Herrmann secretly investigates Philipp to figure out just how honorable the young man really is, but his constant probing and grouchiness only succeed in spoiling everyone's vacation.
