@stanglmeier My car wasn't out until 1998. The 2011 XJ Supersport, a 17 foot long car, does 0-60 in 3.9 and the quarter in 12.2... that doesn't lose to anything. I am subscribed to them and Road and Track. How about S430 v. XJ8. S500 v. XJR. The S430 does 0-60 in 7.2s, the XJ8 in 6.6. The S500, 0-60 is in 6, but the XJR cost less and did 5.3. 2011 SL65=3.8 to 60, 2012 XKR-S=3.6 from C/D. The XKRS costs half as much. And the SL65 loses value fastest in class. MSN doesnt test acceleration ya prat

S65 amg destroys the living fuck out of any jaguar 5 door. The new XKRS is shit compared to an SL 65 AMG black series in all aspects of acceleration. @stanglmeier Well, on the Jag thing, I listed off a bunch of comparable cars and you attacked the Jag. Which, mind you, placed 1st in a 2002 TG owner satisfaction survey, of all road cars, whereas Mercedes had the bottom 4 places, lower than Alfa Romeo even! Look at MSN auto owner ratings, Mercedes are all under 9/10. XJ all over 9.1 You're working off assumption, not reality. I didn't buy a merc because the 1/4mi are slower, 0-60 are slower, cost of ownership are higher. Also, uglier.

@Acct1941 regardless of price you pay for quality. Jaguars have the most breakdowns/repairs of all luxury vehicals. Im not saying a jaguar is a bad car by any sort of standards but a mercedes on paper is simply better. Hp/L has nothing to do with it, mercedes are faster than Jaguars, have better acceleration, and have better quality. Sure i agree in 1996 mercedes wasnt good looking, but no one cares about 1996. So if you read back you will see you randomly bring Jaguar into this argument. Stfu.
