Whether ballet or ballroom, clogging or jazz, dancing is great for helping people of all ages and physical abilities get and stay in shape. Researchers are learning that regular physical activity in general can help keep your body, including your brain, healthy as you age. While lots of fun, dancing that requires you to remember dance steps and sequences boosts brain power by improving memory skills. Research has even shown that some people with Alzheimer's disease are able to recall forgotten memories when they dance to music they used to know. In this video, Dwight Burns, organizer of Pic-n-Grin, joins host Jeff Nall of Council on Aging of West Florida to talk a regular, local opportunity for seniors to have fun while dancing their way to better health.
