Lol rules on this song! Anyway, all Cure drummers made their best at THEIR time,
Lol, Andy, Boris and Jason fitted the sound of the Cure's current episodes. I don't like Jason's sound, but remember: He has to step in the shoes of THREE sounds AND has to be at Robert's mercy! Three dots...

@emma199512 - LOL! If you believe "17 Seconds" was originally released as a CD instead of 12-inch 33 rpm vinyl, I have CDs to sell you with REAL ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPHS by Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Hank Williams and Elvis Presley. :)

Smith is thinking... Son of a bitch, am I still going to be singing this when I'm fifty? And now in 2010/2011 he's thinking... seventy?

Change is precisely what punk was partly about. It was concerned with moving forward. Progression. If The Cure still sounded like they did in 1979 to 1983, they'd sound stuck and somewhat pointless now. No different to the UK Subs or some no-brain punk band plodding on with a tired and redundant sound. Fact is, The Cure played around with their sound and ideas from the beginning. It was healthy and way ahead of these times of post-irony and chin-scratching bullshit.

@1965raj they have changed too many times, they are robert smith's opinion and a select few, they should rename the band

They were, and ARE, a true 'punk' band. They do what the fuck they want and without any care for anybody else, plus they're honest. They are not U2. they still have that independent spirit blazing away. Fair play to them!
