The Name Card Trick

How to turn a name into a card trick. This is a revised version of the 21 Card Trick and works the same way. If you don't know how to deal the cards the right way, watch my 21 Card Trick video.

Steps
1. Get name
2. Count the letters in their name and make three piles each with that number of letters
3. Ask them to pick a card from a pile. Tell them not to tell you.
4. Deal cards out one into each pile at a time. Then ask them to find their card. If they find their card in the pile, put that pile on another pile and put the last pile on top.
5. Do step 4 again.
6. Ask the person to spell their name out. Each letter, put a card down.
7. Divide the number of letters in their name by two. If the number includes a .5 or a half, round up. Put that many cards down.
8. Pick up the first card in the deck that hasn't been put down. That's their card.

Whats name os this trick that im going to say?some1 shuffles deck and puts in pocket, asks audience member to pick 2 suits then like pick 1 then pick a card form that suit, then pick any number 1 - 52, say 20, then he picks any 1 by 1 crds from his pocket and on the 20th card he gets the presons card right?

I dont understand something , why don't you just use the three piles in the disclosure part. ? DEMONSTRATE what should be going on. If you are inot "Which Pile Effects", or "21 Card Trick"Beg, Borrow Or Steal $ for Randy Wakeman's Reno Magic. it has the best pick a pile trick ever devised I say this without any fear of contradiction. Everyone watching will think they know whats going to happen ( Its an ancient card plot afterall), So when you finally do your reveal it devastates your audence.

I can't get this down... It doesn't work if the card isn't at the center of a pile to begin with. If they pick a card that is second to last from either side within the pile then the card doesn't turn up. I will be one card off. (Or am I missing something?)

21 card trick. simple & logic based sure, but as long it brings out the "wtf" look on your volunteers face, followed by "how did you do that?!", then its all good. bless
