Controlling multiple instances of Guitar Rig from the knobs on my guitar. The pots are no longer connected to the pickup, instead they are digitized and sent via MIDI (surprise!) to arbitrary functions in Guitar Rig 3. Some build notes: The first pot is MIDI controller and a push/pull kill switch for the audio, although with the pickup I'm using (seymour duncan blackout) I seldom have to use it, even when playing live. The control cavity is shielded... without the active pickup and the shielding you could hear some clock noise in with the audio. Pots ahould be linear taper, I could only find one in town, and the audio tapers don't work as well. The electronics/circuit board fit in the control cavity of the guitar w/o any routing, but I do, at the moment, have two separate cables running from the guitar. Also, passive pickups do, in my opinion, sound better without pots. Finally, forgive my fumbling in the video, I just built the MIDI portion and don't exactly have it down as of yet,

what was that song you were playing after you said at 0:55" a less distorted lead sound"

  • Thanks... it's forty-six & 2 by tool

  • That is so clever. Had the chance to try it in the live enviroment yet? Nice screaming harmonics as well, lol!

  • Thanks! I'll be trying it live this weekend to the annoyance of my bandmates.

  • whats your name? you look like a zack. (yeah completely irrelevant, so?)

  • really cool man! would you mine to post a tutorial how did you do that settings. thanks

  • hey can you make a quick push/pull kill pot switch demo because im trying see how that exactly works and your the only that ive seen on youtube has it. it would be a big help, thanks!!

  • I think the idea's pretty good but you want to be able to control the transitions of patches with your feet so that you have a smoother transition between sounds .... having to move the strumming or picking hand to switch seems like it'd slow things down. The kontrol edition has been a necessity for me playing live...

  • Hey, can you build me one? I really don't want to have to do it myself. Also, I'll probably need a manual so I know how to use it. Also, I'll need your phone number so I can call you when I can't figure it out.
