Meteor Mission 2 on a TRS-80 Model 1

This is a classic TRS-80 game and my all-time favourite from 1981. The idea is to rescue the little astronauts (block-men) by landing on the platform while dodging the asteroids. Very addictive. Gotta love the low-res graphics and general cheesiness but hey, this is 16 kilobytes of RAM and 1978 technology we are talking about here! Second life, it aint!

looks fun. I found meteor mission from the Lunar Rescue wiki (played it on taito legends), a game which this is very very similar to.

Yes, all you needed to do was to connect an amplifier to the cassette OUT port. The game programmers had done the rest!

I remember playing this game back in 79, I think. I used to get up in the middle of the night to play it. I enjoyed it so much that I wrote a version of the game for the iPhone and iTouch :) And I just got it approved today from Apple! Look to your right for the video :) Meteor Mission III.

I remember this game very well! For the sound my pop had to buy this mini amplifier that connected to the cassette tape mini output. It took like 5 minutes to load from the tape recorder but it was a blast! I also loved the other games from these guys (I believe Big 5 Software).

haha, awesome. I remember playing this for hours on an old TRS-80 model III that used to belong to my grandfather. Even wired up my own cassette adapter for that thing so that I could have sound.
