Monaco 1995 - Retired from 2nd while reeling in Schumacher (taken out by Brundle when lapping him).
Spain 1995 - Retired from 2nd (car failure)
Monza 1995 - Retired from lead (car failure)
Spa 1995 - Retired from lead (car failure)
Suzuka 1995 - Retired from 2nd while reeling in Schumacher (car failure)
Alesi gave a World Championship winning performance in 1995. It's such a shame is car couldn't hang in there for him.

@AlexDeLarge90 ferrari on top? lol senna was dominating the late 80's and early 90's. The only thing that defeated him was the electronic aids in the williamses
-
@DeckardWill Alesi only took that win in Montreal because Schumacher had problems with his steering wheel in the Benetton Renault... After the second time Schumacher came in for that problem, Alesi could overtake him. So Schumacher made the first stop for that electronic problem, without losing the lead. Also it was Alesi's only win in his F1 career.. So World Championship performance?? I think not...

Alesi opting to join Ferrari instead of Williams in 1991 cost him at least 1 championship. They wanted to sign him
But who can blame him? Ferrari was on top in 1990 and nobody would have believed they would win zero races in the next three seasons and only 2 races in the next 5 seasons.
Williams won 27 races in the next three seasons, and 39 in the next 5
It might have been Alesi and not Prost in the '93 title winning Williams, and him not Mansell winning the '92 title.

Yes in the mid 90's Ferrari were famous for their frequent failures. Even when Schumacher joined them in 1996 they retired from 3 races in a row with car failure.
-
The Ferrari of the mid-90s was a quick car which gave the Williams a good run for its money ... its just a pity that it so unreliable. That's potentially what cost Alesi at least 1 championship!

Very simple: too much heavy weight comparing to a Renault V10 with the same power.
