I have a perfectly logical explanation for this happening
The monorail was really depressed so it hid explosives in 2 areas (one in the vent and one inside the floor) and was going to commit suicide. But it got really pissed off at you for defusing one of the bombs and drove off hoping to take you as well. But when it realized you were not on it anymore it blew itself up.

@sevcheko24 You don't have to talk to the bomb planter if you side with the NCR. Quick taking things so seriously. Try going outside once in awhile. Maybe you wont get so heated over a game.
