Dean Reed performing "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" in Moscow in 1980.

"You Don't Bring Me Flowers"

You don't bring me flowers
You don't sing me love songs

You hardly talk to me anymore
When I come through the door
at the end of the day

I remember when
You couldn't wait to love me
Used to hate to leave me
Now after lovin' me late at night

Well it's good for you babe
You're feelin' alright

Well you just roll over
and turn out the light
And you don't bring
me flowers anymore

It used to be so natural
to talk about forever
but used to be's don't count anymore
they just lay on the floor
'til we sweep them away

Baby I remember all the
things you taught me

I learned how to laugh
and I learned how to cry

Well I learned how to love
and I learned how to lie

So you'd think I could learn how
YOU think I could learn how
to tell you goodbye

You don't bring me flowers anymore

Well you'd think I could learn
how to tell you goodbye

You don't sing me

You don't sing me love songs

and you don't bring
me flowers
anymore

  • Wonderful song, I love it.

  • Mensch bienenpabst, hast du ne blühende Fantasie!!!!Oder weißt du wirklich mehr-----ich könnte mich zu Spekulationen hinreißen lassen!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow! What a marvellous and unsurpassed conveying of the song. I love it more than that version by Streisand and Diamond, which in its turn is good too. But this one... Superb. Thank you for sharing!

I have recalled what splendid actor and singer Dean Read was and found out about an outstanding Hungarian singer-Kati Kovacs.

  • It maybe about the death of love but it's so beautifully sung that you can't help but wish they'd find the magic they once had but lost. It's a sad yet loving song.

  • You don't even know who Dean is so don't make stupid comments.
