The vines twine the pipes
They cleave the hydrant
The ground is broken here tonight
So watch your step

Are you sure you want to go so
Deep behind the high fence?
Wading in the heat
Drowning the stench

No daisies in her garden
No daffodil no rose
But there are poppies
And lilies that are lying
Sleeping where the wild things grow
Sleeping where the wild things grow

She had a lover once
He's buried in the back row
She planted him beneath the stump
Of a burned out oak

And if you look around you'll find
His rags and bones
His scarlet cloth his copper coin
His ivory comb
