Yes! They have a beautiful full, deep, open, ring. These drums are alive with sound. I love it. I hate the sound of dead drums. If you want that sound play on cardboard.

Thank you for the compliments. I am very happy with sound and look of the Volcano Percussion Congas. The drums stand up to all the harsh weather just fine. I try to move them very quickly in the cold weather and they are put in nice insulated conga bags for protection. I always de-tuned the drums when done. When the weather is really bad I use fiberglass congas.

I was fortunate enough to see Mike play live in Chicago, and he was fantastic. If you ever get the chance to see MIke play live, do so, because you will be treating yourself to some awesome music. Hey Mike, fantastic playing and beautiful drums. I'm in Toronto, and our winters are similar to Chigago, very dry and cold. How would the drums hold up to gigging, they would be in the cold and warm quite a bit during transport. Thanks again, really nice playing.
