This is , I guess a reference to how the premodern authors justify their work.

It is dream which impels them to some sort of agency. Of course the modern

people would have other sources of inspiration for doing Indian classics besides

the gods and godesses appearing in their dreams. I don't see the reason for hurt

here. As for Saraswati, her description in Sanskrit texts are often kind of erotic.

@Taodharma Thanks for the correction. That is even worse! One does not have control over dreams but to wish for such a dream is perverse. It is not that he does not know such a statement will be hurtful but he is deliberately disrespectful. Hindu Gods and Goddesses are ending up as objects of sexual gratification for the Western academics! I would like to dream of the Goddess castrating these people!
