M-Send, Daresbury SIC

M-Send is a high-tech IT company based at Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus (Daresbury SIC), specialising in providing net services to mobile devices. Established in May 2005, the company used to have an office in Manchester, but began looking for more cost-effective accommodation as the business began to grow and more people were recruited into the company.

As soon as M-Send moved in, its directors recognised Daresbury as the perfect place for doing business. Through its events and collaborative initiatives, the Campus offers a wealth of opportunity to meet fellow tenants and to establish partnerships. The company finds the monthly business breakfast event particularly useful as it allows delegates meeting a number of people over a short period of time. Through relationships established during the Business Breakfast Networking, M-Send has successfully secured three business deals.

Being based at Daresbury also let the companys business grow. It established a joint venture with another tenant company based at Daresbury Innovation Centre, acquiring its technology afterwards. It also doubled the number of its staff M-Send has been actively engaging in relationships with other Campus partners, including UKTI and Business Link. It has also used a Masters student intern from University of Liverpool to carry out market research for the company.
